Could a part of you really want you to be fat? Am I crazy?
You are probably thinking, “Do not be crazy – I’m desperate to be skinny!” And it is likely that – consciously. The problem is that their food and their weight is largely controlled by your unconscious mind, and may have a different agenda!
It may seem strange to want to be overweight, and few people want it consciously. However, you can maintain unconscious fears and beliefs that can profoundly affect even though they are fully aware of them. These beliefs are often formed when very young, when we can take a comment from a parent or other influential person and generalize in a belief.
For example, a man had told his grandmother when he was a boy who loved his chubby cheeks and it was nice that he was overweight. Your unconscious mind had formed a link between being overweight and being loved. As an adult, you have the knowledge and perspective to put this comment in context (ie, grandmother lived through the war, no wonder you feel so), but as a child, could take much more seriously.
As an example of the later in life, a woman had been through a very difficult to break when Last intestine. Your unconscious mind had been linked with the feeling of pain to be thin, and formed the belief that it was a bad idea to be thin again.
A woman had been on many diets that your unconscious mind had formed the belief that being thin was not sure if dieted that again! I had to start eating regularly, eating more fat and giving many assurances that she would never diet again, Jillian Michaels Diet so you start losing weight.
A man had decided that when he was thin, he would do something about their relationship work horrible and frightening, but at an unconscious level that he was afraid of what that would entail.
One woman had initially gained weight in late adolescence, he had helped to avoid marrying a man who does not find attractive, but that his parents were very interested in! The reason for the excess weight was gone, but the weight was maintained until the belief is addressed.
A woman had yet formed the belief that it was safer to be fat as a little child when he heard the conversation silent and shocked their parents when the details of what happened in concentration camps became evident after the war. This belief was held at a very unconscious.
On a more general, people tend to link their minds with thinness in a lot of other positive things (better job, more confidence, better relationships, being more active and outgoing). At some level, remaining fat is easier than having to make all these changes! It can be a convenient umbrella for all other problems in their lives.
If all this sounds quite true for you, that’s great, because awareness is the first stage of being able to change the beliefs, the beliefs and change can have a dramatic effect on your weight.
